What to Wear
We suggest comfortable clothing that you can move easily in. Layers are good as we will alternate between periods of sitting and periods of activity.
What to Bring
- We usually spend quite a lot of time sitting and it’s important to be comfortable; please take responsibility for your own comfort. Either bring a suitable meditation stool, cushion or backrest, etc., or let Colin or Fanny know if you want them to provide something for you; they ask £10 per retreat for this
- You may want to bring some boots / rainwear, etc. if you want to go walking in the breaks.
- Slippers and a rug / blanket if you want one.
All Retreats are completely Off-Grid
This is really important! Please arrange your life in such a way that you can have no mobile phone or email communication throughout the retreat. We can provide alarm clocks if needed, and people can contact Fanny or Colin in case of emergency.
Residential or Not?
We offer both fully residential and non-residential events (as well as Online groups using Zoom)
Fully Residential Events
Mostly happen either at our home in Devon. Some rooms need to be shared (2 people) and there are a couple of single spaces in studios in the garden. We can't guarantee single rooms.
We always provide a good range of mostly organic vegetarian food. Cooking and clearing is done by the group in small teams. Please come expecting to do your share.
Sometimes we use other venues in Devon, or offer summer retreats on Dartmoor, camping and using the facilities at a village hall; this will be made clear in the publicity.

Non-Residential Events
Bring food to share for lunch. We usually have the use of a kitchen area, and sometimes a cooker. Tea, etc. will be provided.
